Socialism’s Chain of Control – How Religion, Politics and Economics are Linked Together in a Socialist Society or Pre-Socialist Society
Socialism’s Chain of Control. This is a conceptual model that shows why religion, politics and economics are so closely linked together in a society that is socialist, or a society that is moving toward socialism, or a progressive socialist society.
American Capitalism is built on the solid foundation of Christian spiritual and moral thinking. Indeed, it is no accident that our Founding Fathers referred to God in their writings. A first principle of American democracy is that our freedoms come from God. They specifically do not come from any king or government leader; they do not come from any state or government; and they do not even come from any of our founding documents. God is the Author of Liberty.
Thomas Jefferson’s words inscribed at the Jefferson Memorial capture his insight, wisdom and support for this first principle: “God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God?” See Note 1 below.
In stark contrast to American Capitalism, socialism is the antithesis of freedom. Indeed, socialism is government-dictated centralized planning and control.
How and why does this control come about? Socialism’s Chain of Control summarizes it clearly.
First, in order to create a “socialist utopia,” socialism must control the economy. To do this, it must eliminate economic freedom. Second, in order to eliminate economic freedom, socialism must control the government. To do this, it must eliminate political freedom. Third, in order to eliminate political freedom, socialism must control the culture and morality. To do this, it must eliminate religious freedom.
